On Saturday, June 24, The NOLA Project will host an open-call audition for all available roles in its 2017-18 Season. Auditions will be held in the Lusher Charter Elementary School Goldring Center (entrance located on the corner of Pine and Jeanette streets). All pertinent show information, including rehearsal/run dates* and casting breakdowns, is listed below.

*Please pay careful attention to the dates of these productions as we are not interested in actors with excessive rehearsal conflicts and The NOLA Project does not employ understudies.

THE BATTLE FOR NEW ORLEANS by James Fitzmorris
• Rehearses Oct 9-Nov 1 | Runs Nov 2-18
• Auditioners: Beau Bratcher (director), James Fitzmorris (author)
• AEA/Non-AEA contracts
• Equity auditions: 10am-11am | General auditions: 11am-5:30pm
• Cast breakdown: 5 M, 4 F
• Sides provided

MEN ON BOATS by Jaclyn Backhaus
• Rehearses Feb 15-March 21 | Runs March 22-April 7
• Auditioners: Shannon Sindelar (director), A.J. Allegra (AD)
• AEA/Non-AEA contracts
• Equity: 10am-11am | General: 11am-5:30pm
• Cast: To be comprised of actors who are female-identifying, trans-identifying, genderfluid, and/or non-gender-conforming
• Auditionees are asked to prepare a 90-second monologue in the style of the show
• Callbacks: Sunday, June 25

THE THREE MUSKETEERS by Pete McElligott
• Rehearses April 2-May 8 | Runs May 9-27
• Auditioner: Mark Routhier (director)
• AEA/Non-AEA contracts
• Equity: 10am-11am | General: 11am-3pm
• Cast breakdown: 8 M, 4 F
• Auditionees are asked to prepare a 90-second classical (pre-1900) comedic monologue
• Previous stage-combat experience is a plus, but not required
• Callbacks: Fall 2017

OSKAR AND THE COUNTLESS COSTUME CHANGES
• Rehearses August 2-21 | Open run
• Auditioner: Kristin Shoffner (director)
• Non-AEA contracts only
• 3pm-5:30pm
• Cast: 4 M, 2 F
• Auditionees are asked to recite a story or fairy tale
• Callbacks: Sunday, June 25

To schedule an audition, email NOLA Project Associate Artistic Director James Bartelle at [email protected] Include which shows you wish to be considered for and a preferred time slot. In the event that all time slots are full, you will be placed on a Wait List and contacted if an actor should cancel.

Please bring one copy of your headshot/resume for each show you wish to audition for. If you do not have physical headshots, you are welcome to email one.

The NOLA Project does accept video auditions. These can be emailed to [email protected] They will be sent to the appropriate director and viewed by Sunday, June 25.

The NOLA Project is an ensemble-driven company seeking performers of all ages, races, genders, backgrounds, and abilities. All are encouraged and welcome to audition.
