On June 25th, join us for Solstice: a Summertime Drag Brunch and Fundraiser for BreakOUT, an organization providing resources to queer and trans* youth and young adults of color in the New Orleans area. 25% of total ticket sales will be going to this fantastic organization, which you can read more about below. This donation is made possible through our legitimately incredible sponsors, ONEHOPE Wine and Gayborhood.
We're serving bottomless (!!!) mimosas, a four-course brunch, and this time we've got not three but FOUR drag superstars bringing two numbers each. That's a lot of drag, y'all. Check out the full menu below as well as a bit more about the performers and the organizations we’re partnering with for this event!
Tickets will increase in price as more are sold. With 60 available seats, the first 20 will be $45, the second 20 will be $50, and the final 20 will be $55.
11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 25th at 1225 Mandeville Street in the Marigny.
ABOUT YOUR QUEENS
She's bending limbs & gender all over town, and it’s honestly got us concerned for Grace Jones because like… Franky is coming for her gigs. This queen’s stage presence will have you literally cowering in awe, desperately apologizing and begging forgiveness for something you’re not even sure you did.
She was the winner of Tumblr’s Drag Race Cycle 7, she was crowned Miss Appletini 2017, and now she’s coming to serve you some gagworthy brunch magic. One of the most talented looks queens in town, Ms. Contraire is a mistress of seduction, illusion, elusion, and allusion.
Don’t blink or you might miss her. Slenderella is a pop punk princess with a style somewhere between Victoria’s Secret and Coyote Ugly, just way more popular and entertaining than both combined. She’s the hostess and producer of the wildly popular monthly drag show Rips ‘N Tits at Bud Rips and love her or hate her, she’s coming for your dads.
& hosted by Dede Onassis
Once again recently widowed following yet another untimely death of a husband, Theodora Onassis (or Dede, as her bosom buddies would call her) is ready to share her grief with the world by singing some of Broadway’s boldest ballads. A skilled chanteuse who hasn’t worked a day in her life, Ms. Onassis is a regular contributor to both Bella Blue’s Whiskey & Rhinestones and the Society of Sin’s Talk Nerdy to Me burlesque revues, as well as a teacher at the New Orleans School of Burlesque.
BreakOUT! envisions a city where transgender, gender non-conforming, and queer youth of color can live without fear of harassment and discrimination. The organization seeks to end the criminalization of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth to build a safer and more just New Orleans.
BreakOUT! aims to build on the rich cultural tradition of resistance in the South to protect LGBTQ youth ages 13-25 directly impacted by the criminal justice system through youth organizing, healing justice, and leadership development programs. Join their email list for updates on events and fundraisers benefitting the organization.
