Join United Teachers of New Orleans, UNITE HERE Local 2262, Standwith Dignity, Step Up Louisiana, the Power Coalition, European Dissent-New Orleans, and Show-Me $15 for a critical conversation about what makes a good job in New Orleans.
With our city approaching its 300th year we are struggling with a crisis of poverty made worse by a lack of access to good jobs and career pathways. We believe that better jobs and a better economy need to be central to the work our elected officials do to improve our city.
We will be joined by council and mayoral candidates including LaToya Cantrell, Desiree Charbonnet and Michael Bagneris.
The topics that will be covered are:
— Living Wage + Local Hire Ordinances
— Career Pathways and Access to Jobs
— Jobs as Public Safety
— Right to Organize
Food, childcare and spanish language interpretation will be provided. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
