Louisiana History Alive presents A County Fair
Please join us at Sidney's Saloon on July 22nd from 6-9pm for a tribute to Time Past featuring pie, a spelling bee and a fancy hat promenade! We're going to party like it's 1917, celebrating a few of Vee (Veronica) Russell's favorite things in honor of her birthday and dedication to LHA.
Have what it takes to enter the Pie Bake Off? Perhaps you'd like to try your luck at the Pie Walk? Or maybe you REALLY like pie and are interested in entering our Pie Eating Contest?
Tasting Passes are available for $20, giving you 5 chances to sample the sweet and savory offerings from local businesses and our community. We're excited to announce the local celebrity judges: David Johnson, our favorite New Orleans cultural chronicler and celebrator; Emily Marshall-Garrett, popular Food Stylist from the ABC show The Astronaut Wives Club and Elizabeth Zibilich, the Crafty Li'l Devil and organizer of The Friends of Louisiana History Alive.
Funnyman and emcee Chris Lane hosts our Spelling Bee, showcasing the finest (and possibly tipsiest) local scholars as they engage in a battle of the cerebellums!
Creative and crafty friends are encouraged to attend with their best County Fair 1917 inspired hats and accessories and are welcome to join in our Promenade.
