ABOUT THE RUTH PAZ HOSPITAL
The Ruth Paz Foundation is a non-profit, tax deductible — Status 501 C-3 — charitable organization dedicated in providing life-changing medical care and support to underprivileged Honduran children and their families Since the 1970´s, the Ruth Paz Foundation has enabled the access of marginalized children to specialized burn wound management and congenital birth defect treatments in the United States. The Ruth Paz Foundation is financed predominantly through private funds, with occasional government funds. The goal of the Ruth Paz Hospital for Burn Children and Pediatric Surgery is to deliver burn wound management care to children in Honduras, therefore reducing the overall pediatric morbidity and mortality due to burns nationally. The hospital will also meet the excess demand for pediatric surgeries, decreasing the waiting periods at the regional level. The Ruth Paz Hospital for Burns and Pediatric Surgery was completed in August of 2010.
