Located less than 30 miles south of Siena, the road to Montalcino passes through some of the most picturesque landscapes of Tuscany including the hills of the Val d’Orcia and the Creti Senesi. Positioned on a hilltop, the town of Montalcino dominates the valley with its medieval walls and the fortress from the late 1300’s. It stretches to include the enchanting Abbey of Sant’Antimo to the south, with San Quirico just to the east of its borders and Bagno Petriolo just to the west.
Brunello di Montalcino, named after the small town of Montalcino, is made from 100% Sangiovese allowing the qualities of the grape and sense of place to shine through in the wine. Due to its high quality, consistency, and longevity, Brunello ranks among Italy’s most sought-after, well-known wines. But there is much more to Montalcino than Brunello and tonight Antonio Molesini will introduce us to the different levels of DOC and DOCG wines of the region. The wines will range in price from $20 to $75 giving you a broad view of the wines coming from this famous Tuscan hilltown.
The tasting of 5 wines is $40 and reservations are required for the event.
-As with all of our tastings and classes we ask that you not wear perfume, cologne or any other strong scents that could interfere with the wine's aromas for you and those around you.
-Refunds can be made with a minimum 3 days advance notice. Credit cannot be given towards future classes.
