┃VERSÃO EM PORTUGUÊS ABAIXO┃
It's summer time! It's Samba time! We're happy to announce our first Brazilian Bash at Second Line Brewing. A day to celebrate Brazilian music, dance, and food! It's also a great opportunity to donate to a special Brazilian cause. We'll be accepting contributions that will go directly to Favela Brass Music School in Rio de Janeiro.
To get everyone dancing, we'll have a traditional «Roda de Samba» with the group Amigos do Samba, that means you can even sing along! Fill your bellies with the best of Brazilian food, made by Brazilian hands just for you!
— Favela Brass
The Favela Brass Project provides free brass, percussion and English lessons to young children in a small favela in Rio de Janeiro. This project is very special because it brings New Orleans music to Brazil. Want to know more about this amazing project? Visit their blog favelabrass.org/
We'll be accepting contributions and we'll have Favela Brass T-shirts to raffle off at the event. All raffle sales will also be donated to the project!

Their mission is to bring the «Roda de Samba», well-known in Brazil, to New Orleans. The group is formed by Ezra Spira-Cohen, Felipe Leite, Leo Oliveira, Nicolas Bell, Scott Myers, Tedo Oliveira, a mix of Brazilian and US natives.
— Capoeira New Orleans
Capoeira New Orleans has been in the Gulf Coast area since December 2006 with the arrival of Mestrando Cocada. Its mission is to create awareness of Brazilian culture through the Afro-Brazilian arts, primarily Capoeira. A big focus is our kids program here in New Orleans as well as in Goioerê, Paraná, a small rural town in southern Brazil. Our community invests funds from classes and fundraising into our local and international programs that create opportunities for participating kids.
