In conjunction with the Architecture & Design Film Festival: New Orleans 2017, «The Destruction of Memory» exposes the vulnerability of the world's important architectural and cultural heritage sites in times of war. Interviewees include the Director-General of UNESCO.
Following the 1pm Sunday, August 27th film, three experts in the field of architectural significance and cultural heritage will discuss the problems facing the modern world with protecting these sites, what it means to lose to these landmarks for the people, and steps that are being made to protect them.
*John Stubbs — Director of the Master of Preservation Studies program at Tulane University's School of Architecture, Christovich Senior Professor of Practice
*Dr. Ryan Gray — Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of New Orleans
*Tess Davis — Executive Director of the Antiquities Coalition
Tickets for the film are $11 general public, $9 for students/seniors/aia. As a special gift from the Louisiana Architectural Foundation, all participants will also receive a free small popcorn.
