The Public Works, Sanitation and Environment Committee meeting will be held this Tuesday, 9/26 at 10 am. In accordance, we are scheduling the rally to take place during (and following) the committee meeting (Tuesday, 9/26) at City Hall and Duncan Plaza. We'd appreciate people arriving at 9:45 to gather outside before entering…
This City Council Committee meeting will address the following: **Catch Basins, **Errors in Water Bills, and Construction in the French Quarter. We wanna pack this room, y'all!!!
While the event time is currently listed as 10 am, we'd love it if people came a little before the meeting (signs are welcome!), so we can organize outside and enter as a group…
Attend the Public Works, Sanitation and Environment Committee meeting — EN MASSE… We want to demonstrate to the committee that we are paying attention to their actions
(Following the meeting ...)
Should we still have some RALLY left in us, we propose the following «after-event»…
(approximately) 12:30 / 1 pm:
Gather outside (with signs if you'd like) and voice our thoughts/concerns about the current state of water management in our city… Dependent upon organization interest, we may also have brief presentations on some awesome local initiatives
The two main goals of this rally are:
1.) To make our attention toward and concerns about repeated flooding known to city council members (and city council/mayoral candidates)… and to send the message that officials will be held accountable for inaction toward repeated flooding.
2.) To educate attendees and event page followers on our current water management situation, future possibilities, initiatives pursued by local organizations, and candidate platforms on the issue
