*** RALLY UPDATE ***
The city council schedule for the Public Works, Sanitation and Environment Committee meeting has changed. The meeting will now be held next Tuesday, 9/26 at 10 am. In accordance with this change, we are rescheduling the rally to take place during (and possible following) the committee meeting (Tuesday, 9/26) at City Hall and Duncan Plaza.
The two main goals of this rally are:
1.) To make our attention toward and concerns about repeated flooding known to city council members (and city council/mayoral candidates)
2.) To educate rally attendees on our current water management situation, future possibilities, and what initiatives are being pursued by local organizations
While the event time is currently listed as 10 am, we'd love it if people came a little before the meeting (signs are welcome!), so we can organize outside and enter as a group…
Attend the Public Works, Sanitation and Environment Committee meeting — EN MASSE… We want to demonstrate to the committee that we are paying attention to their actions (public comments?)
(Following the meeting ...)
There is currently no posted agenda for the Public Works, Sanitation and Environment Committee meeting, however, based upon past meetings, we anticipate it will end at or before 1 pm.
Should we still have some RALLY left in us, we propose the following «after-event»…
(approximately) 1 pm:
Gather outside with out signs and voice our thoughts/concerns about the current state of water management in our city… Dependent upon organization interest (we have a few good ones on board thus far!!) we may also have brief presentations on local initiatives, as well as info tables where you can learn even more about how you can become involved
