Please join Nola to Angola riders and organizers for our 7th annual send-off and press conference! Nola to Angola raises awareness about the long distances people have to travel to visit their incarcerated loved ones and funds the Cornerstone Bus Project, which sends free buses that allow family members to make those trips.
Learn more about Nola to Angola's work here: nolatoangola.org.
Speakers will include:
-Leo Jackson, Minister of Second Zion Baptist Church & Director of the Cornerstone Bus Project
-Robert Jones, Innocence Project New Orleans Exoneree
-Mercedes Montagnes, Director of The Promise of Justice Initiative
Join us to support the ride, wish riders support and luck on their upcoming 170-mile bike trip, and acknowledge the ways in which incarceration touches all of our lives here in New Orleans. Donations to the project can be made here: razoo.com/organization/Nola-To-Angola
Community members are also invited to bike alongside the ride as we leave the city and proceed to the river levee. Children and young people are welcome. Please wear a helmet!
