In Ayurveda, the Mother natural medicine to yoga, digestion is thought to be the key to a strong immune system and a healthy mind, all related to you being able to “digest” everything in your life harmoniously with healthy digestive fires.

This educational series is in 3 parts, 1 lecture, 1 Slow Down/Restorative Yoga practice specific to digestion and 1 take home natural remedy

Lecture Discussion: 1.5 hours

Food as medicine
Life habits of ingest, rest and digest
Eat according to your constitution
Timely ingestion, assimilation, digestion & elimination
How to retain the nutrients from the food you eat
The most common nourishing foods in the Ayurveda system
Food toxicity, malabsorption, malnutrition
Low digestive fires/Lack of appetite
Emotional & stress eating
What is toxic according to Ayurveda
What is cleansing according to Ayurveda
The sympathetic nervous system & stress in the gut
The guts relationship to the mind
Foods/herbs/oils/asanas/habits that induce healthy digestion
Foods/herbs/oils/asanas/habits that slow down digestion

Ayurveda Yoga Therapy Session: 1 hour

An explanation and asana practice sequence tailored to all the key poses in a Total Slow Down & Restorative Yoga class specifically for the digestion’s homeostasis, be it too high, fast, slow or low, healthy or toxic.

An explanation of all contra-indications to avoid if your digestion is either too slow, or too fast.

2 homemade medicinal teas will be served: 1 for promoting digestion & 1 for promoting nourishment
