WHO: We The People
WHAT: Will be advocating for new blood in congress seats by way of voting and running
WHERE: Duncan Plaza
WHY: Our Democracy need attention
WHEN: Jan 30th, 2018
10am — 1pm
DETAILS HAVE CHANGED since this event was created.
On Jan 30th, the ‘State of the Union’ speech will be made at 9pm. It’s a good day to discuss what needs to change in our system. Our system is filled with corruption and all people are effected by it… black lives, homeless, middle class, independent/small business, religions, ICE, gun violence, prison slavery, teacher wages, gay rights, drug addiction, DACA the list goes on… please include any missing topics and inquire about speaking at the event.
We will meet at Duncan plaza on the 30th from 10am — 1pm to address these issues and suggest positive solutions. We are looking for speakers who have a passion about a topic listed above+ and would like to speak for 15min on behalf of their knowledge and expertise. Giving positive solutions and informing people to whom they should vote for during the 2018 midterm elections and why.
The main goal is to encourage people to vote, run for office, become senate, become committee of their city they call home to share positive views and hopefully make a positive change in our democracy.
“Impeachment” causes lots of emotions. Ugh.
**Please read, the 25th amendment sec 4
It really hurts to read… It’s as if we cannot get rid of him (them) so we need to focus on our democracy and fix this problem by voting accurately.
The current support and organizers for this event are;
*Myself, promoting and voicing all information and detail planning/permits/gofundme
*Head chair at LSU who is coordinating volunteer medic stations, water and first aide.
*Criminal defense lawyer, giving legal advise and who will be at our aide in case any attendees need representation.
*Flyer, printing and organizing distribution has a part time person… looking for more.
If you feel there is anything you can do to help organize this, please message me we may need your help!
I was disappointed that we couldn’t be part of the national impeachment march, but we need to move forward and make some changes within our democracy.
Please keep your attendance, unless of course you do not support this event change and cause.
Peace and love to, everybody…
SEE YOU AT WOMENS MARCH!
