Fiction-writing classes at Treo

Interested in improving your writing? If you want help to finally finish your novel, or if you simply enjoy writing for yourself, you will find this eight-week course useful, enjoyable and interesting. Adults of any age, ability and background welcomed.
We will look at the basics of crafting fiction such as plot and character, and we will also read and critique work brought in by those taking the course. We aim for around a dozen writers and it will be flexible and informative. All adults are welcome no matter their age, ability and background.
Instructor Stephen Rea, originally from Northern Ireland, has lived in New Orleans since 2004. This is the same course that he taught for four years to almost 200 writers at the Walker Percy Center, Loyola University. He was a national newspaper journalist in the UK and is the author of Finn McCool's Football Club, a tale set against Hurricane Katrina and centered around the Irish pub in Mid-City.
Tuesdays from 7 – 9pm, March 13 until May 8 (no class April 3)
